Wilier Triestina is one of the oldest bicycle companies in Italy and looks back on a long tradition. Dal Molin from Bassano founded Wilier in 1906 and brought the company through two world wars. After 1945, he renamed the company because of his love for Trieste and called it Wilier Triestina from then on. In the following year, he also founded a cycling team that has been very successful over the years, achieving many successes and victories on the red racers and having stars like Magni under contract. Even though there were difficult times when production had to be stopped, Wilier Triestina is still a high-quality bicycle manufacturer from Italy today.
The Wilier Triestina Pista is a track bike that was specifically developed for use on the velodrome. Track bike frames are often stiff and without suspension in order to maximize the transfer of pedal power to the rear wheel. This track bike is most likely a one-of-a-kind. It comes from the small but fine bike shop in Busto Arsizio, Italy and bears the name Ghirardi. The stickers can theoretically be removed, but they are part of the history of this classic.
Campagnolo has a reputation for high quality bicycle components and a long tradition in the cycling industry. The Pista components are in line with this tradition and are designed to meet the high standards of track cyclists. Campagnolo's Pista hubs are designed for use on the velodrome. They are durable and offer smooth rotation to meet the demands of track cycling. This also applies to the original Gipiemme crankset. Pista cranksets are often designed to be particularly stiff to ensure efficient power transfer and maximum stiffness during track cycling.
