The story of Gios Torino is, as is often the case with Italian bicycle manufacturers, a family story. Grandfather Tolmino was a successful racing cyclist before the Second World War and opened his workshop in Turin after 1945 - the first top-class racing bikes were built. When the company was asked to sponsor a professional team in 1972, the company did not hesitate for long and produced the first, unmistakable "Blue Gios". Gios Torino has been accompanied by many successful races with incredible victories, as well as innovations such as the world's first replaceable and adjustable dropout on the Compact model.
The Gios Super Record is a racing bike model from the Italian manufacturer Gios. It was produced in the 1980s and is known for its high quality, performance and iconic design. The frame of the Gios Super Record is made of high-quality steel, which ensures an optimal combination of rigidity and comfort. The frame was specially developed for racing and offers a balanced driving geometry for fast and agile driving. A striking feature of the Gios Super Record is its eye-catching design. The bike is usually finished in a bright blue paint job, the characteristic Gios blue, which has become a trademark of the brand.
While the Campagnolo Record from 1963 was a bitter disappointment for many racing drivers, the Campagnolo Nuovo Record group and especially the rear derailleur were groundbreaking. For over 16 years, this group was the non-plus-ultra in competitive racing and drove one racing driver after another to victory. Its strengths include its lightness, very stable construction and good workmanship. The group's front derailleur in particular occupies an important place in cultural history. Since then, it was no longer just a bicycle component, but was suddenly seen as a piece of jewelry, which was an absolute luxury product due to its enormous price.
